This story, set after the conclusion of the Japanese Sailor Moon Anime series, takes place back on the rebuilt Moon Kingdom. Queen Melissa Beryl's daughter, Ashely Beryl, is the potential victim in a premeditated plot by the Moon Kingdom's High Crimes Court Supreme Judge Carl Reinheart. After Melissa is found guilty for her crimes, the judge issues a sentence that no one believes fits any crime: The execution of her four year old daughter, Ashely.

THE STORY
This is quite simplily my most favorite story to work on because of the nature of the story itself. Both sad and dramatic, it uses Queen Beryl, which is, in my mind, the most misused character on the Sailor Moon character roster, not to mention the most expandable. She was given no back story in the anime, and not much of one in the manga.And not much action, either. This gave me an easy subject to start to modify, and the rest was history.

This was originally going to be a one shot deal, but I ended up wanting to write a sequal, Sweet Revenge, that I can honestly say sucked. It didn't make any sense, and had a reference to the WHITE HOUSE having something to do with everything that was going to make absolutly NO sense. So I scrapped it.

As this was, I typed this up in just a day, but that was back in 99. However, it has undergone numerous revisions. including added scenes and ways to make the story more readable. As it was my favorite one to do, I wanted it to be perfect.

That includes the name of the princess of the Dark Kingdom. When this was first written, I gave her the name of, you may want to be seated for this one, Princess Seryl. And yes, the rhyming thing was by design. But now, in 2005, this latest revision, first avaliable on this site, finally changes the name to the name I gave the princess in the CWE, Ashely Beryl. The Queen's name is changed now, too. She was Queen Michelle Beryl, but it's now Melissa, because I just thought that it was a better name to give her.
