Q: What is " Moon Kingdom " and what is it about?
A: It is a project that I have been trying to get off the ground for many years now. I've always dreamed of doing something of this scale since dipping my toes into the fanfiction waters. The main story centers around the beginnings of the Silver Millennium Project and Serenity's attempt to make her dream of 1000 years of undeterred peace a living reality. For more about this fanfiction, please visit "About Moon Kingdom".
Q: How many chapters are there or will there be in " Moon Kingdom "?
A: This is the reason why I think that this is such a robust project. Unlike my other fanfics, this is designed so new parts of the story can always be added, and that new story arcs can be created. In other words, there are no set chapter number goals in Moon Kingdom. However, I have instead decided to do things in "seasons". I have envisioned this to be in the same chapter structure as a TV series (which is one of the reasons why I name each chapter an "episode" here). I would be doing a set of episodes as "Season 1", and then, when done with season 1, I'd go and begin a new "season". Not sure how that will play out, but I hope it doesn't confuse anyone. Each season would have about 20-22 episodes in it (provided I can say up to doing that kind of thing. Knowing how much in overdrive my mind is, that won't be too hard).
Q: When do new " Moon Kingdom " episodes appear?
A: I'll try to get them out there ASAP, even though I can't guarantee anything.
Q: Why are the characters in " Moon Kingdom " different than in the Sailor Moon manga or anime?
Although the setting is in the Moon Kingdom, this fic is set 100 years before the main SM saga began, and thus, at a point in time in which the Sailors you know now have not been born yet. I did this to not only focus on the events in the Project, but the story's main focus: The first Sailor Soldiers. Even though you may not see Usagi or Rei in this, I've made it so the new characters that are introduced will be laying the groundwork for the things you know now. Also, you will see Serenity as well as a few familiar faces as the series goes on (as early as the third episode, I assure you core SM faithful you will see a VERY familiar face).
Q: Is this fanfiction an original story or a fanfiction?
A: You could say it's a little bit of both. It's an original entry into the Sailor Moon universe. However, many of the characters are new players into the setting, and some, although they first come about as new characters, end up becoming someone who you will remember. Pay close attention to descriptions of characters and keep in mind the SM characters. However, it is an original story in a sense that the events that the new players will endure are of an original mix. I want for people to be engrossed in the drama of what happened on the Moon and the planets involved in the Project, and to give each character a back story and also focus on their personal issues, as well, and not just those that have a profound impact on the public.
Q: Could this story be the same as a totally original story instead of a mix?
A: I gotten this on a few occasions, so I want to address it here. I am structuring a half-Alternate Universe Sailor Moon canon that this fanfiction will begin. Deadworld is also a major part of this new canon that I have been imagining since I became an SM fan. I call it a "Half"-AU because I incoprerate the events in SM First Season and Sailor Moon R as they happened in the original canon. However, with that in mind, Moon Kingdom is supposed to introduce the familiar characters and new characters that become intergral part of stories such as Deadworld. Furthermore, as the story progresses, the elements that make up the SM fandom are explained and found. In short, it can't be an original story because it's meant as a prequel in every sense of the word.
Q: Why do we only see a few aspects in the Sailor Moon fandom appear in each Moon Kingdom episode?
A: Though the fanfiction does elaborate on how many things in the SM fandom came to be, the story ALSO follows the stories of that first group. Yes, you will see things associated with the SM fandom, but you will also be able to read how each character associated with the first group develops.
